THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF “TOGETHER!”

Pastor Michael Brooks brings an exciting sermon titled “The Transforming Power of Together!” God is working all things together according to His purpose for those that are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:28. Are these random acts? Coincidence? I don’t think so. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:20. Are you trusting God’s blessing in direction today? Why miss out?

Are You Prepared? - Waianae Baptist Church and Worship Center.jpg

2 Peter 3

The Day of the Lord

3 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

ARE YOU PREPARED?

Pastor Michael Brooks brings an exciting sermon titled “Are You Prepared?" Pastor Brooks references 2 Peter 3, Matthew 24:36, Luke 12:46, 1 Thessalonians 4, John 14:6, Romans 8:16, and Matthew 22. The Bible is our preparation manual for eternal life with Jesus Christ, are you ready?

How to Welcome and Keep a New Pastor - Waianae Baptist Church and Worship Center.jpg

1 Timothy 4:11-16

King James Version

11 These things command and teach.

12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

The Old and New Convenant - Waianae Baptist Church and Worship Center 2.jpg

Pastor Blaine Fye brings an exciting sermon titled “The Old vs New Covenant" from 2:3 Corinthians. The Old Covenant brought death because we fail to obey the Law. The New Covenant brings life through the righteousness of Christ as we trust Him to save us.

The Apostle Paul challenges us and offers a word of hope. We are very bold, he tells the Corinthians (v. 12). But it is only because they have such a hope that they act in such a fashion. God’s law was written on stone tablets but now by the Grace of God and the Holy Spirit it is written on the Christian heart and now shines through the unveiled face of the New Covenant Christian not by man but by the Glory of God.

Paul's Farewell - Waianae Baptist Church and Worship Center.jpg

Pastor Blaine Fye brings an exciting sermon titled “Paul’s Farewell" from 2 Corinthians 10.

The Apostle Paul challenges us to live according to Christ teachings, not boast, and just where we get not only our talents, but God’s blessing to use them. What does this mean today? We live at a time when the mind is de-emphasized and the needs of the individual elevated--so much so that our generation has been dubbed "the me generation." By contrast, Paul affirms that the mind matters. Indeed, it is so crucial that he focuses all his efforts on taking every thought captive and making it obey Christ. Christ must reign supreme in our minds.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” - Ephesians 6:12

Again seeking to perfect holiness in our relationship to the Lord and with each other.

Authentic Christianity - Waianae Baptist Church and Worship Center.jpg

Pastor Blaine Fye brings an exciting sermon titled “Authentic Christianity" from 2 Corinthians 2:14-3:3. Our God alone is worthy of worship. You can’t watch God work and not be moved to worship. Worship is the way we say, “Yes” to the truth of God’s existence, His authority, His loving creativity and His glory. This is worship as a response. And so we praise our Lord, our Savior, our God! As Jesus told them “But He answered and said, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the rocks would cry out." (Luke 19:37-40).
